Xinhua Daily and three other major provincial and municipal media outlets conducted a concentrated interview at Nanjing Electric.

On March 3, 2021, accompanied by He Xiaojin, Deputy Director of the Publicity and United Front Work Department of the Nanjing Economic Development Zone; Liu Fang, Director of the Investment Promotion Office of the Investment Promotion Bureau; and other zone officials, reporters from Xinhua Daily, Nanjing Daily, Jiangsu TV, and Nanjing TV visited Nanjing Electric Technology Group Co., Ltd. to conduct a focused interview on the company’s efforts to secure major projects, accelerate independent innovation, and break foreign monopolies.
At a press conference and roundtable with corporate leaders, Shen Qirong, General Manager of Nanjing Electric, provided an overview of the Baiyun Electric Group, the Central Research Institute, Nanjing Electric, and key projects, as well as the company’s strategic direction for future development. Chief Engineer Shi Yubing and Deputy General Manager Deng Junwen offered detailed responses to reporters’ questions regarding ultra-high-voltage bushings and the digital factory project.
Subsequently, accompanied by Nanjing Electric’s leadership and staff, the journalists visited the high-voltage bushing production line, the ultra-high-voltage laboratory, the hollow composite insulator production line, and the glass insulator production line, where they conducted on-site tours, took photographs, and conducted interviews. They also fielded questions from reporters on topics such as the R&D of ultra-high-voltage bushings and China’s “3060” carbon‑emission targets.
“Nanjing Electric is committed to contributing to the nation’s power‑grid development by researching, developing, and manufacturing domestic alternatives to imported bushings, thereby addressing critical technological bottlenecks and overcoming challenges in our industrial supply chain—responsibilities that every Chinese enterprise must shoulder. Based on the several products we have already brought to market, test data on electrical and mechanical performance, insulation properties, and other key metrics already place us firmly ahead of our international counterparts.”
In response to the opportunities presented by the national “3060” goals for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality—particularly in new energy, power infrastructure development, and integrated energy services—Shen Qirong stated that our industries serving wind power, solar power, hydropower, and shore‑based power supply are helping to reduce carbon emissions under the “3060” framework. At the same time, we have launched a suite of energy‑saving solutions and comprehensive energy‑management systems, complemented by many of our existing products that directly support the ultra‑high‑voltage transmission sector, thereby addressing the challenges of long‑distance clean‑energy delivery. As such, Nanjing Electric will contribute to the realization of China’s “3060” carbon‑emission targets.
