Leidian‑brand tempered glass insulators, first developed in China in 1958, have now accumulated sales of over 100 million units, accounting for one‑half of the national market and one‑sixth of the global market.
For more than 60 years, Nanjing Electric’s Leidian‑brand tempered glass insulators have reliably supported key national projects, contributing to the construction of landmark initiatives such as the Three Gorges Project, the West-to-East Power Transmission Program, the Anhui‑to‑East Power Transmission Project, the Xinjiang‑to‑Outbound Power Transmission Project, the Shaanxi‑to‑Outbound Power Transmission Project, the Inner Mongolia‑to‑Outbound Power Transmission Project, and the North China‑to‑South Power Supply Project. They have also played a vital role in the Belt and Road Initiative, new infrastructure development, and global power‑sector growth. Since winning the bid for the State Grid’s Jin‑Su UHV transmission line project in 2011, Nanjing Electric’s Leidian‑brand glass insulators have secured contracts for 24 UHV projects, including 10 UHV AC lines and 14 UHV DC lines, with a total delivery of 4.46 million units.
