Nanjing Electric Ensures On-Time Delivery Amid the Pandemic, Supporting Key National Projects

During the 2020 Spring Festival, the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic struck. The severe outbreak posed a grave threat to the health and safety of the public and significantly disrupted business operations. As a major supplier of insulator products to State Grid Corporation of China and China Southern Power Grid, Nanjing Electric undertook the production and supply tasks for key projects and livelihood‑related initiatives, including the Yachong–Jiangxi Ultra‑High‑Voltage Transmission Project and poverty‑alleviation renovation programs. In response to the pandemic, Nanjing Electric rigorously implemented the decisions and directives of the CPC Central Committee and the requirements of its superiors, mobilizing the entire company in an emergency effort to simultaneously prioritize both epidemic prevention and production, thereby contributing to the fight against the virus, the resumption of work and production, and the support of major national infrastructure projects.
On January 27, Nanjing Electric held an emergency video conference on epidemic prevention and control, fully launching measures to contain the outbreak, implement remote work, and prepare for the resumption of production. Following extensive, meticulous preparatory work, submission of resumption applications, and rigorous review by the Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Nanjing Electric became one of the first companies in the zone to resume operations on February 10. By gradually increasing the number of employees returning to work, the company had achieved a 90% resumption rate by the end of February. Starting February 18, during this critical period of epidemic prevention, the company shipped nearly 80,000 glass insulators—counted as of February 25—to State Grid’s Shaanxi, Gansu, Hunan, and Jiangsu power supply companies; China Southern Power Grid’s Dongguan, Shenzhen, Guangxi, and Guangdong units; as well as to overseas markets, thereby ensuring the timely delivery of products for a number of key projects and planned outage‑maintenance activities through concrete actions.
