Nanjing Electric (Group) Co., Ltd. recently organized performance tests on two glass insulator products, LXP-160 and LXP-210, after 30 years of operation on 500 kV lines. This is the first time in the history of Nanjing Electric and the first in the same industry in China. The test results show that the glass insulator products of Nanjing Electric after 30 years of operation on the 500 kV line have high mechanical strength and low dispersion, and are at the same level as the product standard specified value, and the product's electromechanical performance has not been attenuated.

The product inspection test team evaluates the performance test results and makes recommendations. The test team believes that the performance test values ​​of the two glass products in this test are equivalent to those specified in the factory standard and meet the requirements of the GB/T1001.1-2003 national standard, indicating that the performance of the two glass products after 30 years of operation is stable. The operation is safe and reliable; the tempered internal stress obtained during the tempering heat treatment of the insulator glass is a permanent stress, which can keep the electromechanical performance of the product from decay after long-term operation on the line, so that the product has the characteristics of not easy to aging.

Those who participated in the testing and testing agreed that Nanjing Electric (Group) Co., Ltd. tracked and verified the operating quality of tempered glass insulators, accumulated a lot of valuable data and made contributions to the insulator industry. The China Electric Power Research Institute recommends that the company cooperate with power operation units to continue to track the quality of tempered glass insulators and conduct scientific research on the product life cycle.
