Nanjing Electric’s hollow composite insulators proudly showcase their performance at the Wucaiwang Power Station in Xinjiang.

In 2020, the High‑Tech Materials Company of Nanjing Electric Technology Group Co., Ltd. manufactured and supplied 330 hollow composite insulators for the 750‑kV substation integrated composite‑insulation project at the Beisan Power Plant in Wucailuan, Xinjiang. The substation was commissioned in May 2021. The upper photograph shows a distant view of the power plant and substation, while the lower set of images captures the products in operation, taken on August 8, 2022.
The hollow‑and‑pillar composite insulator project is a new initiative that Nanjing Electric has undertaken in recent years, leveraging advanced materials to upgrade the traditional insulator industry. The products boast high strength, light weight, and excellent performance. As the lead drafting organization for the national standard on ultra‑high‑voltage hollow composite insulators, the company’s offerings have reached world‑leading levels and are now deployed across the UHV sector. In addition to the power‑equipment industry, these cutting‑edge materials and products find broad applications in petrochemicals, energy, marine engineering, and the defense sector, with promising market prospects.
