Construction has commenced on the Nanjing Electric Outdoor Ultra-High-Voltage Test Station and Phase I of the Demonstration Project.

On the morning of March 6, 2020, with the arrival of the first excavator, construction officially commenced on the first phase of the Outdoor UHV Test Station and Demonstration Project at the East China Manufacturing Base of Baiyun Electric Group—Nanjing Electric’s Ultra-High-Voltage Outdoor Engineering Demonstration Park (hereinafter referred to as the “Phase I Project”).
According to reports, the UHV Outdoor Engineering Demonstration Park is one of the key projects for Baiyun Electric Group’s East China Manufacturing Base in 2020. The first phase, currently under construction, involves an investment of RMB 10 million and occupies 10 mu of land. It focuses on the procurement and installation of outdoor testing equipment, thereby enhancing and upgrading the hardware capabilities of the existing national‑level UHV laboratory. Upon completion, the facility will strengthen its capacity to conduct mechanical vibration tests and mechanical strength tests on insulator strings ranging from 70 kN to 1000 kN, further refining the testing system to better meet both routine and specialized testing requirements of domestic and international customers. At the same time, it will provide the necessary test conditions for conducting research and development on product‑life fatigue testing. Moreover, leveraging the company’s existing national‑level laboratory infrastructure and human resources, the project will enable expanded collaboration with third‑party laboratories to offer external testing services.
