Nanjing Electric has won the bids for two UHV projects, including the Yachong–Jiangxi line.

On October 15, 2019, the State Grid Bidding Center issued an announcement on the winning bids for two key State Grid projects: the Ya’an–Jiangxi ±800 kV transmission line and the 1,000 kV outgoing‑line supporting project at the Changzhi Substation. Nanjing Electric Insulator Co., Ltd. was awarded contracts for glass insulators in both projects, with a total of over 510,000 units—more than 480,000 pieces of 550 kN DC bell‑type glass insulators and over 30,000 pieces of 550 kN AC external‑umbrella‑type glass insulators.
The State Grid Ya’an–Jiangxi ±800 kV UHVDC transmission project was constructed to implement the CPC Central Committee’s vision of green development, accelerate the transition toward clean and low‑carbon energy, promote the outbound transmission of hydropower from Sichuan Province, and meet the electricity demand of central China, including Jiangxi and Hunan Provinces. It is a key project under the national “West-to-East Power Transmission” strategy.
The 1,000-kV transmission line project at the Changzhi Substation of State Grid is a UHV infrastructure initiative designed to implement the national energy transition strategy of “exporting Shanxi’s electricity” and “promoting both coal transportation and power transmission.” This project will help alleviate pressure on coal logistics, support the national action plan for air pollution prevention and control, and play a vital role in fostering sustainable regional economic development.
