Nanjing Electric has participated in the construction of 18 UHV projects.

As the birthplace of China’s first tempered‑glass insulator and currently the world’s largest single‑site glass insulator manufacturing base, Nanjing Electric has, in recent years, closely aligned itself with the needs of the nation’s ultra‑high‑voltage (UHV) grid projects. By steadfastly pursuing independent innovation and accelerating its transformation and upgrading, the company has mastered world‑leading core technologies in the R&D and production of high‑end glass insulators. It has successfully completed major national projects for the development and industrialization of critical technological equipment, participated in the construction of 18 UHV transmission projects, and contributed to key national initiatives such as “West-to-East Power Transmission,” “Anhui-to-East Power Transmission,” “Xinjiang-to-Outside Power Transmission,” “Inner Mongolia-to-Outside Power Transmission,” and “Shaanxi-to-Outside Power Transmission.”
Since 2011 and through June 2018, over an eight-year period, Nanjing Electric has supplied a total of 3.22 million glass insulators for 18 UHV projects—comprising 11 DC UHV lines and 7 AC UHV lines. Its cumulative deliveries of glass insulators for UHV projects rank first in China’s industry and also hold the global top position. (Jiang Shui)
