Nanjing Electric Insulation Subsidiary Passes SGS Quality Management System Certification Audit

Recently, Nanjing Electric Insulator Co., Ltd. received the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification from SGS China, a globally recognized certification body. This milestone signifies that the company’s quality management system, developed over nearly one year in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, has successfully passed the audit conducted by this prestigious international organization. It also marks the first time that Nanjing Electric’s quality management system has obtained an internationally accredited certification.
Founded in 1878, SGS is currently the world’s largest and oldest privately owned, third-party multinational company specializing in product quality control and technical certification. Headquartered in Geneva, it operates more than 1,000 branches and specialized laboratories worldwide. Since 1991, SGS has been providing international certification services for management systems in China. As Nanjing Electric Insulator Co., Ltd.’s newly established quality management system was undergoing its first certification audit with SGS, the organization attached great importance to the process and conducted a total of three audits: a preliminary review, a Stage 1 audit, and a Stage 2 audit.
The pre‑audit and the first‑stage audit primarily aim to verify the insulation subsidiary’s conformity of its quality management system with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, its capability to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual requirements, its ability to reasonably anticipate and achieve the specified objectives, and its capacity to identify appropriate areas for potential improvement. They also assess the planning and execution of internal audits and management reviews, determine the overall maturity of the quality management system’s implementation, and provide feedback to foster continuous improvement.
At the end of July, SGS dispatched three experts to conduct the second‑stage audit of the insulator company’s quality management system. Building on the verification of corrective actions for nonconformities identified in the previous two audits, the team reviewed areas including product design and operational planning and control, control of externally provided products and services, infrastructure maintenance, production and service provision and product/service release, incoming material inspection and warehouse management, metrological management of monitoring and measuring resources, control of documented information, personnel competence and awareness, knowledge management, internal audits, and management reviews—comprising on‑site inspections—and issued two reports of minor nonconformities.
In early August, after the insulator subsidiary completed the corrective actions for two minor nonconformities as required, the audit team promptly verified these measures and submitted the relevant documentation to SGS China for certification approval. Following a rigorous review of the submitted materials, SGS China officially approved and issued the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certificate to Nanjing Electric Insulator Co., Ltd. on August 7, 2017.
