On March 8, Nanjing Electric (Group) High‑Tech Materials Co., Ltd. shipped the first million‑volt ultra‑high‑voltage hollow composite insulator developed in‑house for the State Grid’s research project on domesticating UHV bushings; the product will be delivered to TBEA Shenyang Hexin Bushing Co., Ltd.
It is reported that, In September 2021, the high-tech materials company overcame numerous adverse factors, including the pandemic and power restrictions. , complete product manufacturing on time and to the required quality. This product is over 10 meters long, weighs 1.8 tons, and is quite large in size. On October 9, 2021, the ultra-high-voltage hollow composite insulator developed by Nanjing Electric successfully passed high-altitude electrical tests in a single trial at the Yangbajing Test Base of the China Academy of Electrical Sciences. All products have undergone comprehensive professional testing prior to shipment, and all test results are compliant.
Wang Yongwei, General Manager of the High‑Tech Materials Company, stated that the independent research and development and successful delivery of the first 1‑million‑volt ultra‑high‑voltage hollow composite insulator represent a promising start, marking a major breakthrough for Nanjing Electric in the R&D and production of high‑end hollow composite insulators. Moreover, all test results demonstrate that the technical performance of Nanjing Electric’s UHV hollow composite insulators has reached world‑class standards.
